Hacking Donkey Kong Returns 2 Players Not Working with USB Loader GX

Okay the game works perfectly with single player and everything, the only problem is that i can not sync my other wii remote, the buttons flash for a little bit then they just go black, its weird because all my other games can sync more than one controller but apparantly donkey kong only accepts one.
i havent updated anything in a while but yeah what should i do is there a fix in the usb loader gx options menu or what???

Start a game
choose one save file
choose mutliplayer and turn on second player

It won't let you sync the 2nd controller until after you choose "2 Players"; it will literally say something like "please connect the second controller."

this drove me mad too. then i realized it worked all along if i just selected two player. after about an hour of fighting it
