Donkey Kong Country Returns HD has leaked

The first big Nintendo release of the year also brings about the first big Nintendo game leak of the year. Leaked onto the internet two days before its release is Donkey Kong Country Returns HD for the Nintendo Switch. The game is a remaster of a 2010 Wii game, which also found its way onto the 3DS and even the Nvidia Shield TV in China. This version of the game offers extra levels first introduced in the 3DS port, HD graphics, and a "modern mode" which gives Donkey Kong an extra heart of health. Donkey Kong Country Returns HD will officially release on January 16th.

who would've thought this wouldn't had happened already

Nintendo leaks are just another day in the life of their offices
It happens all the time, mainly with the exclusive first-party titles, because they know it's going to get more hype.

Yep, and its only Nintendo that gets them becsuse thats what contains within their fanbase. I dont see Capcom, Sega, or Sony getting their games leaked every corner like Nintendo does

It's very interesting that the NSP file that was leaked is intact, with all signatures and bells & whistles, and it's completely not a convert from the cartridge as usual leaks. Just a proper eShop / electronic release, but 3 days before the release date.

Very interesting detail for me.

Well, I didn't even realize this was coming out (guess I don't follow Nintendo as much as I thought) but it's not really that shocking that it leaked. I don't really remember too much about this game in the first place and don't really care too much about it being "remastered" to HD (Didn't it's sequel already come out on Switch?).

So wait. This is an eShop release than a cartridge dump? I'm surprised but rather interested.

I'm guessing a reviewer had a copy that Nintendo provided via a download code and dumped it from there. Not only they could trace the download back to them, but also blacklist them responsible for future reviews of Nintendo games.
