What's the practical point you're trying to make here? If a billionaire had paid Biden to just remove bits of the government he didn't like, I doubt you'd be splitting hairs over advisors vs officials.

The only practical difference I can see, between Musk telling Trump what to do vs Musk making the decisions for Trump, is that by not being an official employee Musk doesn't have to divest himself of assets that might create a conflict of interest. That would be a bit annoying, given the conflict of interest is the entire point. So they just decided, alright, he won't work for the government but he'll have full access anyway.

Initially I thought the reason the ceasefire went through was because Israel and Palestine were waiting to see who would win the election, because there's no point in agreeing to something if it'll be torn up in a months time. Then Biden's team manage to get Trump's to agree to follow the same basic plan, continuity is assured, and the ceasefire can be agreed.

I am now realising the alternative explanation where Israel agreed because they knew Trump was just going to give them everything they want for the sake of positive headlines. Peace has been achieved, by taking one side and just... putting them somewhere else? Genius. I don't suppose the US is volunteering to take the refugees? Truly there could be no negative consequences of this.

Looking forward to seeing how he plans to end Russia's war on Ukraine on day one.
