Hard decision if you have money to burn buy it. Looks fake to me. Really hard to tell if it is fake the pic is too small.

Hard to say based on the pic, but if he is local and you can meet with him, it would be better to inspect it in person first. Also, bring your friend and leave your money at home - you don't want to get robbed!

As to why someone was asking he would sell it for for 2000 is that you need all the pieces to win the 100K, so it's actually worthless to the seller without the other pieces.

the guy probably doesnt know that he has all of the other pieces

and i would try to meet the guy in person maybe, because if you do get scammed, then you are out 2k and thats not fun

That's bunk. I'm sure it's run the same way as US McD Monopoly games. There's one rare one per set. Either that one he's selling is the rare one, or it's worth pennies. If it's the rare one, there's no way he's going to sell it for less than cost. He and his mates could just eat some burgers and pick up the cash. So either he's selling a fake & looking to jack you for your cash, or he's selling a common to you for a ridiculous amount. Either way it's a scam.

An alternate and perhaps safest solution would be if the guy seems legit, let him keep the piece, jointly collect and split the prize. If it's fake he won't try to claim the prize and if it's real you still get 50K each with no risk.

Assuming that it's like the US monopoly games, the rare pieces all have phone numbers on them that you call to redeem your prizes. So no, it ain't.
