Hacking Does Gateway support eshop game patches (not talking about .cia downloads)

Just a it reads bros, can I just download game patches from eshop for games? I know its possible on sky3ds. Just wanna know if its also possible to do this one GW, just in case I decide to get one eventually.

Old 3DS: Currently no, yes once they release 9.6+ support. Workarounds are possible using rxtools.

New 3DS: No, likely to remain no.

There is generally no need for eshop when using gateway mode though as you can just install the patches as .cia.

Yes, but you gotta be searching for em, which is what i didnt want to do lol Cuz you wont really know when theres a patch out, or does the game still tells ya theres an update available? Plus sometimes Im in that rush to a place then you find out you cant go online cuz on the latest patch, n theres no pc around lol. Well thanks, Ill stick with sky3ds for now.

Nope. rxMode doesn't patch signature checks, so unsigned CIA cannot be recognized.

Normally you can just download updates from the eshop, of course. I'm using all updates from eshop with my gateway. But we are currently locked out on gateway emunand because 9.6 isn't support yet by gateway.

if your using Rxtools you could just update to 9.6 and download from eshop

the game will still alert you to the fact if an update has been release, and most of the games that get updates i.e SSB pokemon etc have the updates dumped to the usual places pretty much within a few hours of the update being released

So could I download a properly signed for my 3DS on rxtools and some how export it from rxtools then import it with my gateway and then use it in classic mode? I doubt that somehow, but I would love it. Can't play pokemon anymore because my copy is physical. Because I'm stuck on 9.5 emunand like everyone else right now.

You could, yes. I can't tell you exactly how though because it's complicated.

Basically you...

• Make backup of 9.5 emunand
• Update to 9.6 using rxtools, download update from eshop
• Make backup of 9.6 emunand
• You can try restoring 9.5 emunand but most likely won't recognize the update yet
• Make a xorpad for your fat16 partition
• Decrypt both your 9.5 and 9.6 emunands, merge the in the ticket for the update to the 9.5 emunand
• Re-encrypt the 9.5 emunand, restore to sd card

Assuming your pokemon cart is your region though, you could just use it in the 9.6 emunand from rxtools with the update directly and restore your 9.5 backup when you want to use gateway.
