I did a quick google search couldn't find any info on pricing, seems google and its affiliates are tightlipped

oh forget it it would seem this site is saying hte cheaper one will go for $350

    source

seems a bit pricey for a strictly cloud computing computer, lol.

would be more appealing if cheaper.

    your thoughts?

lol. you have to buy the computer that only has 1 program ( a web browser ). and you have to pay a subscription to be able to use the apps and crap. this whole thing sounds like bullshit to me. but there are plenty of stupid people who will buy it just to buy it ( ala ipod, ipad, anything else apple ). so i guess this is a brilliant business venture for google.

on-topic... i havent seen any info about pricing other than the link you posted.

The subscription seems to imply that students and businesses will get the laptop for free.

It doesn't look like it'll be overly successful with just this first wave, so I doubt I'd try and get one.

Or maybe there will be people buying it just because they want to browse the web without worrying about the range of netbooks and their specs?

I'm not saying there won't be people buying it because OMG GOOGLE but there will be people buying it because of this.

Please don't tell me you actually consider getting one...

I mean, it's like buying a computer simply because of the OS it runs! And you can install that OS on any other machine!

lol, except for whenever you don't have internet access.
