i am would like to browse through the code to see if there any bugs (and/or exploits) but i have very little idea on how to dissasemble the .app files for the dsi (sound)

You mean decompile; yes, there are ways. But, I am not sure as to how to decompile a .app properly. I'll do some research for you.
