I was absolutely HOOKED on the music in Battle Arena Toshinden the very day I got my PS1 on Sept 12th, 1995. I actually pre-ordered and paid for it so I'd pick it up on Saturday the 9th, but a coworker of mine BEGGED ME to give him my unit and that in 2 days he'd make back the money for me to buy mine. Of course, the PlayStation sold out of day one, but I had another good friend who worked @ EBGames who set aside a console just for me so that I could pick it up on Monday. I bought the console with 1 additional controller, a memory card, Ridge Racer & Battle Arena Toshinden. The music in both those games was immediately intoxicating and addictive.

Man back in the day I could only play Toshinden on a demo disc at my cousins' place, and that Eiji theme was everything ! I begged and begged to get a Playstation but could "only" have a Nintendo 64 back then Of course I have made up for lost time since then, and Toshinden is one of my favourite series.

Believe it or not Genshin Impact has great music and a lot of albums to listen to. Since the music is from different regions of the game it has many styles.

Eiji's theme is ALWAYS what I think of when stirring up memories of this game.

All the time. I especially love chiptunes (not limited to soundtracks). Games from the 16-bit era (and music inspired by them) had a certain sound that modern orchestral soundtracks don't have, and I kind of prefer that sound, even though orchestral soundtracks can be great too.
The music of the early 3D era before orchestral soundtracks became commonplace was great too. I feel like orchestral soundtracks all kind of sound similar, and you can do a lot more with synths and effects to make your soundtrack unique. FF7 is a great example of this, the music heavily relies on synths and it's uniquely FF7, no other game has a soundtrack that sounds similar to it, and it's so good. J-E-N-O-V-A fucking slaps. In fact, I had to listen to it while writing this.
In the case of the Paper Mario TTYD remake the new orchestral soundtrack is worse than the original IMO. It sounds good, but there's just something about the sound of the original that I love and the remade soundtrack fails to capture that.

Used to listen to Sonic Mania's soundtrack. Kirby's Adventure's soundtrack is also a hidden gem. What I especially love is the Donkey Kong Land soundtrack. A demake of Donkey Kong Country? Absolute perfection.

There are so many good game soundtracks:
Turtles in time, Metal Slug 3, Mega Man 8, Mega man X5, Mario Kart 64, Earthbound, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Xenoblade Chronicles 1, 2 and 3, Bravely default 1 and 2.

What about the original version of WipeOut?, And its sequel WipeOut XL???... Loaded, and some of the DOOM music is just phenomenal! The music for QUAKE was all done by Trent Reznor. Great score, just amazing. Super Metroid has a PHENOMENAL scrore that is next to any contender in this thread.

Finally, I've always thought that, Sonic The Hedgehog's Labyrinth maze music always seems like a kind of tango music. Great stuff, and SONIC all the way!!!

Well, yes, of course. I am a videogame fan since 1992. And the music is an integral part of videogames itself. I have a good chunk of GB data solely of videogame music, since Megaman 2 all the way to modern ones. My son loves them too. I am a rock music fan, but I'll be damn if I said that I don't like and acknowledge the genius of videogame music.

It is just awesome.
