Heres a snippet from micro sd wiki

"Samsung announced the world's first EVO Plus 256 GB microSDXC card in May 2016.[78] and in September 2016 Western Digital announced that a prototype of the first 1 TB SDXC card will be demonstrated at Photokina.[79]"

I stand corrected. I didn't click the link but I searched newegg and they do indeed make a 512gb SD card that would work with the o3ds but I think 256gb is the biggest MicroSD.
It isn't :) the 512 is but they are working on the 1Tb and 2Tb Micros for next year or the year after.

No my card now has 85gb+ on it. As I stated it just takes the system longer to read the bigger cards. I've had the same the same load times since I've had the card no matter how much data was on it.
You have a fast card. If the size causes the slow-down, I'll go 64GB at the most.
