Yes, my family knows. My wife saw an EoF post that I made and that was embarrassing. She also knows that I like to participate in questionable practices on my consoles and that I like to take things apart. I had to explain how my switch got banned. I am a tiny bit ashamed.

Possibly. It would not be a thing either way though any more than a sibling is a member of a motorbike forum, or another talks fashion on facebook (might be instagram these days I don't know), or my mum follows cooking websites.
The idea that I occasionally get sent things to review is probably the more eyebrow raising aspect for anything there, and to be fair I am still somewhat curious why people and companies wish to send me/the site things (there are way more popular places that will actually shill things in line with their desired timeframes, possibly even with better gear to test with).

Eh, not really much sense I don't really talk about this site too often to them.

It's really more of a niche because it specializes in being a "gaming homebrew" forum so to speak, in comparison to Reddit where there are a lot more communities and the infamous neckbeard memes are just a lot more popular.

Not to say that less popular things or niches are bad, I actually quite like GBAtemp because of that reason because it somehow feels more comforting to me that way, plus it can avoid all of the bloat BS problems that the mainstream communities generally have lol.
