Yes in USA we never use the 24hr format. I believe only our military uses it still. AM/PM is easier than doing the math. You know, us lazy Americans. On subject tho, I used to wear watches but being in construction (Electrician), I would always break, or lose them, so I haven't worn a watch in years. I used to wear necklaces also, till one day getting shocked and it left a burn mark on my neck where my gold necklace was, so stopped wearing all jewelry.
It's amusing that you mention it as "doing the math", it's just something that's second nature to me lol. It's not like I need to think 15 - 12 = 3pm, I just know what 15:00 is off bat.

I guess back on the thread topic though, this is my watch!

Really cool place that makes them in the UK (here if anybody is interested: https://mrjoneswatches.com/). A part of me is contemplating an Apple Watch in the future for some of the health tracking and the fact I could basically replace my phone with it, but my lord I would miss the aesthetic.

Time displays and clocks are everywhere, dont need a watch or a phone for that anymore. Look around you people!

And I certainly don't need to know how many steps I've done, how my heart is beating, what my temperature is.... Fuck sake, how did we ever survive before such pointless information became a requirement just to get thru the day!

So no would be my answer :rofl2:

Yes I wear a smart watch which is handy for checking the time, checking/clearing notifications quickly, paying for stuff etc

E: it can count my steps and measure my heart rate and all that nonsense, but I don't use it for that

Besides just watches, during Covid I got into a mild fascination with mechanical clocks and how they work. I bought 5 different Westclox Baby Ben wind-up alarm clocks off eBay and Etsy. Clocks like this are how people used to get up in the morning, circa early 1900's through the 60's when electric clocks started becoming mainstream. Anyway, none of these old Westclox were working (so they were cheap), so to overhaul one I would completely disassemble it, clean all the parts in an ultrasonic, reassemble, oil, and "regulate" it (tune it for accurate timekeeping). Here's a late 50's Baby Ben after one week of running, compared against the solar atomic G-Shock that resets itself to an atomic clock radio signal every night. The Westclox lost about 5 minutes. Not bad.

I have a nice thin, slim Casio, had a Swatch Skinny for a while but it broke irreparably. Spent forever looking for a replacement, most watches these days are five pounds of machined steel for some reason. I don't need a grandfather clock strapped to my wrist, it's kinda unwieldy. Gets caught on stuff and everything. I mean there are some very nice slim watches out there, it's just that they cost a billion dollars.

I don't think sylverez even has a Switch, they bought one to chip but messed it up. And no kirby, it is nothing like the 3ds.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@amadeusrock shutdown the switch, remove the SD card and put all new files from Atmosphere, and Hekate github on it, (like that post linked to) then reboot using jig and TegraGUI, and push the Hekate.bin payload. (You update Atmosphere and Hekate by placing new files on SD card, that's all you do to update Atmos/Hekate)
