Based off of the Do you wear a watch? Thread this thread aims to shoot the question. Do you wear a smart watch? I have worn one. It was an Apple watch. Then I switched to Android. So I am stuck without a watch for awhile. So do any of you wear a smartwatch?

    Does this count?

Anyway I had a calculator watch once as a kid. Always wanted a TV remote control watch but that never came to pass (and I just got a normal TV remote to mess with the school TVs).

Other than that then as I said in the watch thread I tell the time by the giant ball of fire that moves pretty reliably across the sky. Even if I had a phone/tablet I would probably not see the need for a watch as the thing rings to tell me someone is calling and anything else can probably wait or I am there pressing refresh a lot in anticipation.

Nope. They're expensive as hell here.

Unless you're the ultimate productivity tech business man who stares at his phone for the majority of the day, I can't understand the need to extend your phone screen a foot away from your pocket. Other than the novelty, there's not much use.

i've scratched up the faces of my last three digital watches, so... a smartwatch probably isn't for me.

I don't have a smartwatch, and I'm not getting one until:
    A: they aren't so expensive
B: battery life is actually good and the smartwatch can make it through a whole day of use

I use a wrist watch. Don't see the need for a smart watch when I have my phone.

No, the only thing I know about them, is that they are a waste of money.

I agree that they're a waste of money.
I'm happy with my digital Timex I got from Walmart at the moment.

I used a Pebble, but after a few months the already bad battery life of 4 days went down to just a day, and that is way too short for a watch. So it's been sitting in a drawer since. I'll consider a smartwatch again when they improve the battery life to last at least a couple weeks.

The price point may be valid or not, depending on US pricing (I have no idea how much it costs over the pond, and you seem to have a US flag on you), but the battery is more than enough: I have an LG G Watch R, which cost me 300€ (about $350), a lot less than what a mid-range regular watch would go for where I live. As far as the battery is concerned, it usually lasts me through two days of regular use, as long as I remember to turn it off at night. If it's a day of heavy texting, or if I need to use Google Maps for a while, then it might use up 60% in a single day, requiring about 10 minutes of charging to get through the second day. What it does, however, is suck the phone's battery like there is no tomorrow, especially if your Bluetooth version is lower than 4.1.

I use a Watchmaker watch face that shows all kinds of information, kind of like a military/aviation one, but it also has heart rate, weather, and compass. Unfortunately, it's hell on my battery, so it usually only lasts a day.

I use a Fitbit and will continue to do do because they ain't cheap and I want to justify the money spent on it.

A Smartwatch is something I will consider once the third or fourth gen stuff is released. Usually with new tech, avoiding the first gen at least is usually a sensible move.

I've got a regular wristwatch. Thought about getting a smartwatch since I can make use of it, but I'm not willing to spend over £500 on an iWatch with less than a day's battery life.

My brother has a Sony SmartBand. No screen, but he finds it useful.
