I don't see a problem with sex in media, it's a natural human function, nothing to keep under wraps. However, I do believe there is a detrimental psychological effect on children who view excessive amounts of pornography on the internet.

Depends on the context. Sex could be artistic, you know. Though I've never seen a sex ad before unless you mean prostitutes or something.

There clearly needs to be a tighter leash on sex on the media, it's pretty much destroying the innocence of children.

As long as there are older brothers, there is no innocence in children over the age of 10.

I believe that to be true, also.

Over-exposure to any stimuli can cause adverse reactions in a young mind. Not least of which could be misconceptions regarding inter-personal relations with the opposite sex, or the belief that certain things may be more acceptable, socially, than they really are.

All this is, of course, dependent on the child's upbringing, and grounding, as well as the child's level of mental health.

I agree completely. There's no way to completely ban sex from the media or older children. Also, it's a part of human nature, so I don't think there's anyway you can do anything about this.

depending on who it's meant to be shown to (i.e. anyone of a legal age) yes to all. It's up to the parents to ensure that their children are not exposed to such content. If not then it is upt o the government to ensure that the laws set are adjusted. It's not the fault of the companies.

Is this for some school project you're doing?

w/o sex in the media, half the population would lose interest in almost everything.

Though with schools, everything spreads like wildfire. I think it's fine as long as you're above legal age, too though kids these days have way too many sources for this stuff.

I don't know what you just said but the staff's main priority is to maintain order in the forums. If that means your previous topic being locked, so be it.

Wow, way to take a shot at the guy who stuck up for your topic, removed the insults towards you, told people to keep it on topic, and closed your topic when you said you wanted to make a new one without all of the flaming.

Also, no one reply to this comment. It will be considered off-topic.

Sex in the media is fine, as long as it is not targeted towards minors.

It's up to the role of parents to provide good education and strong morals to their children. There is no sense in censoring the media.

True and I agree. In Uzbekistan, if it wasn't for the Russian invasion, we would have Islamic law set and things along the line of death sentence for racy material being done. Even though it is offensive to a certain degree, at the same time, looking at the brighter side. This is freedom of the media. It is up to the maturity of the audience to correctly interpret such media.

Only due to the parents of other children not doing enough to prevent their own knowlege of sex etc.

Perhaps I was too general in my previous comment, what I was trying to imply was that those who are educated well enough about sex tend to be more careful on the subject (e.g. by using protection, not having sex due to peer pressure).

Of course parents arn't the sole reason for this not being the case for some children/adults even (e.g. due to personal/family issues or friends having too great an influence) but I do believe that influence of parents are far greater than that of the media - if sustained.
