here's the thing, the anti fluoride theories out there are arguing with half-truths.

fluoride can be dangerous in high concentrations and if consumed in high concentration over long times, especially to young children as it might negatively impact brain function.
the thing is, these levels are comparably high. like, eating a quarter tube of high-fluoride toothpaste a day.
which is why you shouldn't give fluoridated toothpaste to young children who're more likely to swallow the stuff instead of spitting and rinsing it out.

the stuff that regularily pops up like fluoride in water being used to calm the population and make them less critical, thats nonsense. even though ridiculous intake of fluoride might have such a sideeffect.

but even then, considering how hard todays teeth are under attack from sugars in literally everything, trading a few iq points might still be worth it. its about the only form of dental care some people get and its the reason why even the poorest bastards enjoy their teeths in their late 40's

only mild to moderate cases of fluorosis present just discoloration of the teeth, severe cases in kids present physical damage to the enamel of the permanent teeth increasing the probability of developing cavities, fluoride helps in the remineralization of the teeth but only in normal amounts in toothpaste and other hygienic products, not at systemic level like drinking water high in fluoride.
...and municipal water does not have enough fluoride in it to cause severe fluorosis, so your argument is moot. You can't say "it's bad for you" and immediately follow it up with "if you eat a ton of it", that applies to most substances on the planet. Vitamins are necessary nutrients, but overdosing them causes hypervitaminosis and increases toxicity in your body - that doesn't make vitamins bad, that makes you stupid for eating a bucket of tablets. Fluoride in normal doses is an inert substance, all it does is strengthening teeth, it's been tested a billion times over the course of decades.

external fluoride that's not ingested (toothpaste, etc) have completely different functions and mechanism than internal fluoride (small ingested amounts). They're not really relatable, funny enough. They just serve the same goal in humans.

And systemic levels in drinking water are more like, 1 part in 1 million. so for every 1,000,000 parts of water you've got, one of them is fluoride. fluoridated toothpaste has at least 1500 times the amount of fluoride in it. sever fluorosis, which you're talking about, starts happens when you start getting into the 3-5 part per million I think, and even then it's rare. mild flurosis can occur under normal circumstances, but it's usually not noticed and a small price for safer teeth. It's been a while since I've seen the numbers. So basically: don't eat toothpaste XD.

"The risk of teeth forming with the very mildest form of fluorosis must be weighed against the benefit that the individual’s teeth will also have a lower level of dental decay thus saving dental treatment costs, patient discomfort and tooth loss.”

I just meant fluorosis is not only just some stains in the teeth as it can also affect the structure of the teeth itself, but you're right, severe cases mostly happen when children ingest toothpaste and such, hence why you should always help little kids to brush their teeth to make sure they don't swallow the paste.

"there are no poisons, only poisonous doses"

Nobody has yet demonstrated it is the case for fluoridated water at the concentrations seen, there also appears to be a whole lot of evidence saying beneficial effects. Makes sense then to be OK with it.

Fox News is an actual news outlets with some standards of journalism, infowars is not. Your joke would work great with CNN though. ;)
Don't care for either one tbh. Each one is on the extreme end of the political spectrum.

Anyway, I have well water at home and don't like the taste of fluoridated city water.
