I've only owned an Xbox 360, never any PlayStation, but I assume the same question applies to Achievements?

I like them (for the most part) and I enjoy collecting them. Usually when starting a new game, I'll check what Achievements are available and try to go for them.

I do not give an effing eff about my Gamer Score or my total Achievement count, and I don't like Achievements that are just given for grinding, or for no special reason, or for no reason at all ("Congratulations, you booted up this game for the first time! Here's 0 points.")

But when they're creative, or encourage taking on an extra challenge, or for little things that players might not necessarily think of doing otherwise, then I dig them.

[Edit to add]
I'll admit, I was a bit peeved when some of my "completed games" (the Xbox equiv of a platinum) got revoked when I took the console online for the first time and it realised there was DLC that I didn't own.

I'm an addict for sure. Gotta get the platinum in every game (and usually the DLC for the 100% but sometimes I pass on that if there's DLC added years after the fact.)

I'm also weirdly proud of my trophy collection even though I'm well aware nobody else gives a shit about it.

I usually try to go for 100% completion, but only on PlayStation. Don't really care about being a completionist on either Xbox nor Steam. Consider that on Sony's console I mostly play exclusives and things they give away with PS+ it isn't too hard too keep up and doesn't ruin the fun in the slightest.

Most of the time it's not important to me. However, if I really like the game and getting 100% isn't mind-numbingly tedious, I have no problems in getting all the trophies even if it requires some grind here and there.

Honestly I have never cared about trophies or achievements and I would turn them off if I could. I also play games typically on the easiest or second easiest setting.

Trophies are not important and I don't really like them. If anything, they should do some ingame stuff to reward you for a run without damage or something like that, much better.

You can disable achievement and trophy notifications on Xbox and playstation respectively. While that doesn't stop you from earning those entirely, you will be none the wiser

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
