I need to buy 3-4 carts for some new DS Lites we got for family, I am wondering if the clones are the same circuitry as the originals and no changed components that can blow fuses or fry the circuits. Also a while back I saw a site posted on here that sells r4 clones with no packaging for $2.09 or something in the low $2.xx mark, I can't find the topic anymore does anyone have a link?

Only one cart has ever been known to blow a fuse in the DS, and that was the N5. No other flash cart to date has ever caused any huge issues such as that. If you're talking the "original" R4's that are sold now, yes, those are EXACT copies. They will function exactly like the Original R4 and will support Wood.

I don't have the name of that site for you.

They can't blow the fuse of your DS. I never heard of a cart doing that. As for the cheap R4s, the only place I know of is this one:
    http://www.price angels.com/R4_Revolution_MicroSD_TF_Multimedia_Flash_Cart_for_NDS_and_DS_Lite__Compact_Pack
    _p2074.html

Just remove the space between "price" and "angels"
I bough these before and they work with wood. They are a little less cheap at 2.99USD, but they work.

As Nathan Drake said, pretty much only the N5 can blow fuses.
Pretty much any card that is made cheaply or breaks could potentially cause a blown fuse, but that's quite rare except for the original N5.

@pyrmon24: he said blow the fuse (a safety precaution taken in electronics to prevent permanent damage to the circuit board), not fuse (to glue/weld/whatever two things together).
Also, there's usually a good reason why sites are blocked/censored/redirected on GBAtemp.

Thanks for that site, I think it was a similar site like this that I remember after dealextreme went down, I thought it was litedeal.com or something like that that was selling r4 with no packaging for a little bit over $2.

Yeah, I know, I made a little mistake there. I'll fix it.
As to the reason why pr1ceangels is blocked/censored/redirected I do not know or care. I used it before and was satisfied. My R4 was compatible with wood and was insanely cheap. If I need to buy an R4 again(as I sold the first one because one of my friends offered me 40$ for it), I will buy it from there.

Go to the front page, look to the right, and there should be a box with links to flash cart sites. The top most will be lightake. They sell the Original R4, no packaging, $2.79.

They might have been. Sales change all the time though, so I can't be sure.

Prices are cheaper if you order more. Order 5 and it's $2.34 each. That's probably what you were thinking of.
