While It'd be nice to be able to play Romhacks on 9.9, having access to the e-shop again for triforce heroes should be good enough for now.

Maybe this has been asked before, but wouldn't implementing rom hacks by editing game data on the run allow for the finding of a new kernel exploit? I'm not completely sure, since it would all occur in userland right? So it should be impossible to gain kernel access like that, but then again, stuff like Brahma exists so...

No... Kernel exploit access way is different to only use a game (rom hacks)! It's something deeper and requires a lot of knowledge about the console operation!

And, about Brahma: this program only allows/gains access to well-known kernel exploits under 9.3 systems, but is not the kernel exploit itself.

Well, Smealum has hinted multiple times that romhack support could be coming.

He even posted a screenshot of a modified Pokémon OR, and you know he is against piracy, so I doubt he was running it through gateway or CFW.
