Hacking Do it's safe to buy a bricked 3DS and unbrick it with ctrtransfer for a low-price 3ds ?

Just check if light comes on and stays blue with bot screens blank. If it does, it's not a MCU brick, and you can fix it. If it doesn't ever comes up, you can't fix it via software.

Also, check there are no physical problems, since it could mean both screens are not working because of physical damage.

depends, some people say "bricked" which actually means "i dropped it, or i tried to use a screwdriver in the battery terminals and now no longer works"

Unless you can see and test the system in person, I won't suggest buying any bricked system online, especially if the bricked system is a New3DS. Back in the A9LH days the new3DS would suffer an MCU brick if you closed the system while it was still on 2.1. This brick is still a permabrick that not even Nintendo, hardmods, nor NTRBoot can fix. I wouldn't be shocked to see bricked New3DS floating around that are MCU bricks and completely worthless.
