Counter Strike sucks anyways. Oh and yes, you need steam to play online.
Cracked servers generally suck and have loads of lag

Not necessarily true, emulated games don't need Steam while Cracked Steam obviously needs steam.
And nothing wrong with cracked servers, there's still a chance you'll join a cracked server with legit Counter Strike, for example.
Most problem with cracked servers I've had is quite a few are based in the other side of the world from where I live.

Cracked servers sometimes have lots of cheaters too due to lack of VAC repercussions.
