Happy new year everyone, first of all I am sorry if I post this under the wrong thread.
On my DS Lite I want to play a good amount of games.
Now, I already own a R4 with two emulators, Lameboy and GBAEMUDS. But the last emulator has a lot of bugs regarding screen scaling and sound!
So, I was wondering would a flashcart, ez flashcart or everdrive have the same issues regarding sounds and texture glitches like the gbaemu?

    Thank you in advance.

Why not try gbarunner2? Otherwise flashcarts should not have any sound or texture problems.

Gbarunner2 is still being developed and one of the developers of gbaemu4ds, Coto, has given some assistance to gbarunner2. As for compatibility I'd say gbarunner2 is better just by looking at their compatibility list though I have never tried gbaemu4ds. Many people have finished games on gbarunner2 and the sound emulation has gotten a lot better. People say that some pokemon games have perfect sound now. In addition, there are some very interesting features being added like multiplayer support and gyro to mention a few.

Alrighty thank you for your reply. I will look into it. And when choosing a flashcart, which one would you prefer?

GBArunner2 while is indeed a nice piece of software, it unfortunately will never be 100% in terms of speed at a native hardware level, it's just a hypervisor, which isn't powerful enough to make it run close to native, DSi processing does help but not enough. It isn't comparable to a GBA flashcart(s) that run GBA games natively on the hardware, hypervising and native are two different things after all. GBArunner2 requires a bit of frame skipping in order to compensate for the lack of native processing for the games, thus resulting in button delays when playing certain titles like Metroid - Zero Mission or Metroid Fusion, not to say GBArunner2 is a terrible option, it's superb if you just want something without having to spend money for GBA gaming, especially if you own a DSi (since the DSi lacks slot-2), however for me personally, I would consider a GBA flashcart like the EZ-Flash Omega or the EverDrive GBA X5 over GBArunner2 any day. If you own a 3DS then a dedicated 3DS mode GBA emulator would be a better option to solve a lot of those performance issues.

I am sure GBArunner2 will improve as time goes on, but the reality of it is the hyper visor approach with this will never be able to fully run GBA games at a native level, at least not without the help of special slot-1 hardware like a flashcart with a built in processor or something of the sorts (which may come in the future in better forms than the previous related devices, with how technology is becoming I wouldn't be surprised).

Thank you for this! That is really interesting stuff. I own a DS Lite and I have a GBA slot, aka slot-2. So maybe I will buy a flashcart. First I will try GBARunner2 so I can compare and decide later. Thank you again :)
