My disks make a lot of noises when they're being read. I can only really describe them as "beeping noises", but not like the kind of beeping you normally associate with the word "beeping". The games run fine and the disks aren't scratched, so this is probably normal. But I'm a paranoid guy, so I just wanna make sure. If anybody has a copy of SSBB, mind playing through classic a little bit and seeing if you hear any beepish noises while the disk is loading? If it's not too much trouble?

Because if it turns out that there really is something wrong with my console, it's a bit late to return it for a new one, what with the softmodding done.

Noises are usually normal. Some Wiis simply make more noise than others. As long as the games work, I don't think you have to worry.

quite normal when it has the load alot of data from disc.
the noise you hear is from the motor that moves the lens across the disk

It's probably my dirty mind, but when I look at Zesu-chan's avatar, I can only think of my girlfriend. She also makes a lot of noise when we're...playing. I wouldn't describe them as 'beeping noises', though. [IMG]

On a more serious tone: at the worst, it's your wii laser that is dying. Switching to USB will solve that issue...assuming it is an issue (it's kinda hard for us to guess if "loud noises" is actually loud or not).
