Meh, I hate these new fangled turn based rpgs...

I'm surprised about this, didn't they run a poll on their website for a game on ds or psp...and psp won...?

    New? [IMG]

Loved the series, I prefer action RPG myself but Disgaea is an excellent series and I'm glad that they've finally gotten round to actually deciding to do one. Hopefully its new and not a remake like the PSP had.

That's awesome. Hopefully though, it will come to the USA / Europe. It's definitely a JRPG, and not all of those, especially the DS ones, make their way over. Of course, Atlus will probably pick it up for publishing in the western world.

Anyone care to speculate on whether or not it will be a 3D or 2D game? My guess is 2D, though I'd prefer a 3D game, or perhaps a combination of both, ala Rune Factory and Soma Bringer.

Disgaea rocks, I'll be grabbing a copy for sure. [IMG]

Hopefully it does come out in English, I'm thinking it will considering they took the time to convert the PSP release.

Never played the PS2 version but got into the PSP version very heavily and poured in about 45 hours. If they use the same cart as the one used for ASH then hopefully with a lot of compression or removing the voices then it should fit on a DS cart. Or they might as well make a new Disgaea game since releasing it for the third time will just be rubbing it in.

I just assumed it would be a new game specifically for the DS. [IMG]

Even the PS3 Disgaea is 2D, if that says anything.

The battlefields on the PS2 and PSP were 3D, it's just the sprites that are 2D. So I assume the PS3 version has 3D battlefields as well.

Didn't realize that he meant the battlefields. My mistake. The really nice sprites always stood out the most to me, more than everything else.

Let us pry to Kratos that this one is an original adventure and not another remake.

Kratos lets you down. It's another port of the original. Lower Left.

Sigh, looks like I will probably skip this one then, I've already got the game on PSP for my portable needs.

It's likely, but I'm sure they are going to try as hard as possible to avoid that.

Been playing it on and off on the PSP but I'm more likely to "stick to it" on the DS so I welcome this game.

Why would you play a more 'dumbed' down version of the game on the DS over the PSP version?

Probably because when it comes down to controls, the DS will nail it better making the entire game much more streamlined.

Personal thing I suppose, whenever I'm given the choice to use touch screen controls or D pad controls on DS games I always choose the D Pad, much easier.

So therefore for me the controls would be the same on both handhelds.
