Disable Reddit URLs from being formatted as "media"?

So, if you link to a Reddit URL in a post, it automatically gets formatted as "MEDIA", as in
Code:
[MEDIA=reddit]forbiddensnacks/comments/r8v1pv[/MEDIA]
.

This might be nice in some circumstances, but in other circumstances it is preferable not to have a gigantic block of differently-formatted text in the middle of an unrelated thread. How can this be disabled?

I guess there's always just
Code:
https://www.reddit.com/r/forbiddensnacks/comments/r8v1pv/forbidden_meat_lovers_pizza/
, but that makes the link unclickable.

Trying to post
Code:
[url]https://www.reddit.com/r/forbiddensnacks/comments/r8v1pv/forbidden_meat_lovers_pizza/[/url]
still results in the link being reformatted. So does
Code:
[url=https://www.reddit.com/r/forbiddensnacks/comments/r8v1pv/forbidden_meat_lovers_pizza/]https://www.reddit.com/r/forbiddensnacks/comments/r8v1pv/forbidden_meat_lovers_pizza/[/url]
.

Is this behavior intended?

Probably easiest using plain tags, assuming this works.

EDIT: Yep, just encase the URL in plain tags. Could probably even do this maybe and add it as a url instead of just plain text

https://www.reddit.com/r/forbiddensnacks/comments/r8v1pv/forbidden_meat_lovers_pizza/

EDIT2: Double yep, so just do [url=linktoreddit][plain]linktoreddit[/url][/plain] if you also want it as a url.
