"Dino Crisis" and "Dino Crisis 2" enhanced ports shadow-dropped for PC on GOG today
GOG recently announced their "GOG Preservation Program", in which they attempt to restore classic videogames and preserve them for posterity by making those classic titles available and compatible with modern systems. Today, GOG continues with their preservation program, this time adding two more horror classic Capcom titles from the original PlayStation era, Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2.
These two titles previously saw very few re-releases back in the day, with only the original PlayStation and Dreamcast seeing ports of these games, as well as a release for Windows machines back in 2000 (Dino Crisis) and 2002 (Dino Crisis 2) by SourceNext, the same company that made several ports of classic Resident Evil titles to Windows PCs as well back in the day, and it wasn't until today that these titles could be officially played on modern PCs thanks by GOG.
This new re-release for both titles isn't just a port, but it also includes a whole set of patches and modifications to the base games to bring full compatibility and support for modern PCs and controllers, as well as adding some extras like new rendering options, different languages, and other technical improvements. The list of changes for these new enhanced ports for both Dino Crisis titles are the following:

While the original Windows releases from the 2000s aren't compatible with modern systems, a reverse engineer enthusiast and hacker, Gemini, modified these releases from two decades ago, including all of the 3 original classic Resident Evil titles and both Dino Crisis titles, to add quality of life features into them, as well as full compatibility and support for modern PCs and controllers, with a set of patches titled Classic Rebirth.
Both of the Classic Rebirth patches by Gemini for Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 are fully compatible with these releases as well, so those interesting in adding in even more quality of life features into their experience, or even play with HD textures and higher quality audio, can do so by downloading the Japanese versions of both Dino Crisis titles, and then applying the Classic Rebirth patches following the instructions on Gemini's Classic Rebirth website.
Both games are now available on GOG for PCs running either Windows 10 or Windows 11, and can be purchased either separately, or in a bundle that includes both titles. It's possible that these titles could also run under Linux with the GOG or Heroic Launchers, but that remains to be tested.
