Do you need the physical copy for homebrew or is the digital copy fine?

if your console is already hacked then the digital is fine, if you want to use it to get an entreepoint, then you need the physical copy

The digital one let's you install it for yourself, but if you want someone else to install it for you then you need the cartridge.

you still need a way to inject the savegame. so if your consoel doesnt have another entreepoint you need the physical copy.

You could buy it on a 3ds hacked and with your nnid linked and install the exploit to savegame, then system transfer to the current 3ds and put the SD in. This should work but it's better to buy a physical copy and install the savegame with an hacked 3ds or with an external hardware.
