I just opened my ps3 to clean the inside, for using it for 5 years it was not as dusty as i thought it would be, anyways i noticed that the thermal paste was kind of dry(not dry but not wet ether) and that there wasn't that much on the cpu and gpu so i wanted to buy some but in my local store they have many colors(gray, white, orange, silver) but i don't know what would the best one for the ps3 or if it matters.

any one know?

edit:is Arctic Cooling MX-2 Thermal Paste any good for the ps3?

It seems you've used it. Did you and how were your temps before/after?
Don't have a PS3, but some good thermal paste certainly makes a difference on any system. There are other good alternatives besides Arctic Silver 5 though, but that's the one most people recommend. I assume the PS3 is no different.

Thermal paste ain't a Nutella spread, you have to put just the right amount to avoid spills, which is even truer when it comes to conductive paste. the trick is to place a little in the middle and the pressure coming from the heat sink being applied will spread the paste evenly.

what makes the difference between high end and cheap paste is the longevity, not thermal performance.
