Hacking differences bw NDS from country to country

my friend has my US NDS in sweden and needs a charger for it while she is there, but when she went to the store to buy one the guy said
that the charger he had would not fit my NDS. Did nintendo make completely different power ports for different countries?

I understand the plug is totally different being they use a different wattage but why is the physical plug on the NDS different too? or is it?

The physical plugs on a DS are the same from any country.

Either the guy at the store doesn't know his stuff or maybe you had an original Nintendo DS and he only carried power supplies for the DS Lite (or vice versa) - the DS and DS Lite have different sized plugs.

I have the DS lite.....your right, he probably only had the ds plug....i didnt know they were different sizes.....dammit.
sweden to florida is a long flight with no mario bros. oh well.
