    HDMI is best.

The HD AV component cables can only display 720p, you need HDMI to get an artifact-free 1080p iamge.

Not true, component can do 1080p just fine. It can certainly handle 1080i (which is higher than 720p) and can also do 480p.

The difference between HDMI and component is minimal.

Yours statement isn't completely true either.

While component can indeed do 1080p, it lacks the necessary bandwidth HDMI has for a good clear signal.
You also can't upscale DVDs or listen to HD audio with component.

    HDMI: Clearer, more sexier picture/image.
