I am looking for a device to back up GBC saved games to PC from a GB advance console. What is the difference between the GB smart card and the GB transferer 2 and which one is right for me?

GB smart card is a flashcart
GB transfer 2 is a reader/writer

If you already got the gb/c roms, you only need the flashcart (there is a usb version).
If you want to dump your own roms you will need the reader/writer. You will still need a flashcart if you plan to play on a real gameboy/color/pocket.

If you have to ask WHERE to buy one:
http://www.nonelectronics.com/catalog/inde...dex&cPath=2

It is the 3rd one. They also sell gameboys if you want to pick one up as well. The reader/writer will look something like the 5th one.

why should he need a flash cart?
he wants "a device to back up GBC saved games to PC from a GB advance console."

you need a reader/writer. the gbc devices were usually standalone devices, not needing a console (this changed during the gba era, when the gba was used as the reader/writer).

with the reader/writer you can dump your own games and saves. also, (not confirmed!) you should be able to rewrite your savegames back onto the real games.

I said it looks LIKE, not IS. learn to read better.

This is the reader/writer:

It does both the rom and the save data. Only people who NEVER used such things would call it "not confirmed".

The programmer on nonelectronics also can read and write the rom and save aswell.
