Title kinda says it all. Had my Wii U set up with cold boot Haxchi but not used much lately, only a couple times. I don’t really get how it could update itself, it’s been a while I set up all the hacking stuff, but aren’t Nintendo servers blocked via hosts file anyway? Quite puzzling. Whatever app or game I launch gives me error 199-9999 and l have to restart.

Before I dive head first into a brick: what’s the best thing to do right now?

You just need to reinstall CBHC. Boot the Wii U hold Home button choose Homebrew Launcher, then run CBHC Installer.

Nintendo's servers are not blocked unless you block them yourself.

What is supposed to happen when I hold the home button? Right now it won't let me launch the homebrew launcher, I suppose I have to do this via temporary CFW? I feel I should know all this but it's been a while I set all that stuff up and my memory is a complete mess, I don't remember shit. Right now I can't recall a way to launch homebrew launcher without CFW but to get the CFW running again I need homebrew launcher. I freaks me out that my memory is blank on this one.

Starting from having the Wii U off, turn it on. After the Wii U logo it will say Autobooting , then you repeatedly press Home and a menu will appear, and then choose Homebrew Launcher. As long as you have Homebrew Launcher in the correct folder you shouldn't need to do anything else special like CFW it should work.

It's a trick for CBHC users to get into Homebrew Launcher. If that doesn't work you can click on Do Not Touch (it really means do not remove you can enter it) and do the same thing.

If none of this works someone else will have to help because I've only read second hand about how people updated and lost their CBHC and this was supposed to fix it but it's not something I've been through.

Whatever you do turn off automatic updates in settings.

It's not doing this anymore, goes straight to the Homescreen.

You mean the DS title with the warning sign?

Edit: Aight got it. Thanks for you help!
