    I'm here. What's up?

    *reads*

Yeah. See, people are all "lol the large hadron collider is safe!" but that's only under conditions when scientists are in control of it. It even (somewhat) says that they weren't far from controlling the computer that controlled a multi-ton magnet, and screwing with it could've cost several millions of dollars, and who knows what else.

"Welcome to the Large Hadron Collider Central Computer. What would you like to do?"
    1.) Run a test
    2.) Stop a test
    3.) Destroy the world

Haha, the hackers should have replaced the home page with that instead of their hacker greet page [IMG]

    What? Greeks can hack? Really?
How stupid of them to do something like that.I hope they didn't destroy anything precious.

Do that and have a script to count how many times people hit which key.

I wonder how many 3s there would've been...

That whole blackhole thing is silly, it can't destroy the world like that..

It could explode half of Switzerland and a good part of France, thought.. [IMG]

Erm.. anyway, they hacked the homepage only.. it's not like they got access to controls the whole thing [IMG]

you know the particle accelerator can't do black holes. it only does particles for less then miliseconds

You obviously have a problem understanding this "hacking" thing.

You cannot hack unconnected system and there is no way the control computers for the hardon collider are connected to the public internet without manual switches.

As in you'd literally have to have someone inside to hack them.

Why would this computer be connected to the internet?

Even hackers can't destroy the world with a machine that's incapable of doing so.

Hackers won't be able to blow up switzerland, either, much like they're not able to make your computer explode, even though some morons believe they can.

And there goes me thinking that the "don't press the red *boom* b-b-button [IMG]" situation only happens in cartoons.

seriously... I doubt this... there would be no reason to connect the main computers to any outside source... they are processing TERABYTES of data... there's no free anything to connect to the outside...

this has to be a hoax... no way they are THAT damned stupid to give it an outside line...

but in the rare case this isn't a hoax, at least David Lightman didn't find the modems number!

They could blow up parts of the LHC, though, if they took control of vital magnets and such.

However, they cannot control such things.
