'Detroit: Become Human' launches on PC next month

Quantic Dream's titles are steadily coming to PC. Following Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, it is now Detroit: Become Human's turn to be available to PC gamers.

Set in a near and not-so-impossible future, it immerses players in a world at the brink of chaos, where technology has evolved to a point where human like androids are everywhere. They speak, move and behave like human beings, but they are only machines serving humans.

Players will shape and experience an intricate and intense branching narrative told through the eyes of three distinct androids, Kara, Connor and Markus. Each will face countless moral dilemmas that not only determine their fates, but that of the entire city of Detroit. Every decision the player makes, no matter how minute, affects the outcome of the story. Players will want to play and replay to experience the different story resolutions.

Once a PS4-exclusive, Detroit: Become Human will release on PC exclusively through the Epic Games Store on this December 12th, priced at £29.99. A free playable demo showcasing the game’s opening scene will be made available at the same time. The PC version will support 4K resolution, 60fps and full integration of both mouse/keyboard and gamepad controls.

“Porting the game to PC has been a tremendous challenge, as we wanted players to get the original experience without any compromise. So we entirely redesigned the interface and developed a new engine to offer 4k resolution and high quality rendering on a wide range of PCs,” says Writer and Director, David Cage. “We are glad to welcome more “deviants” into the dystopic world of Detroit, and allow them to discover Quantic Dream’s vision of interactive storytelling.”

Detroit: Become Human can be pre-ordered on the Epic Games Store.

Yes and no... A publisher can publicize things and help with money but their primary goals are to make money off licenses and allow for the publishing of games as only them can.

I was saying that as it is false to say that we wouldn't have Detroit, Beyond and Heavy Rai n without EGS, it would have just taken more time...
As far as I am aware Herzog Zwei was never released on the PC. Today though I can play it on an emulator on my PC. I imagine I will similarly be able to play a PS4/xbone console exclusive at some point in the future (though if game companies continue to plunder old libraries to bring me such classics bullet witch then I don't what those might be).

Similarly funding changes what can be done in games, and if that means quicker releases rather than more features, more story or more bugtesting then so be it. I don't get dismissing Epic's efforts here though as almost insignificant in it all, or as an inevitability any more than Steam exists which means a dev didn't have to contemplate pressing discs and the costs associated there and thus make something viable.

To be fair unlike the Shenmue stuff I am not seeing Epic note their assistance with the engine and whatever else so there is that.

but their primary goals are to make money off licenses
Wonder if we will ever get the game equivalents of Oscar bait.
