Hot on the heels of Google's announcement that Destiny 2: The Collection is among the pre-order bonuses for Stadia, Bungie announced today that Destiny 2 is coming to Steam and going F2P on all platforms. 'New Light' is essentially the base version of Destiny 2 with all year one content included, this will be free. Expansions will keep their associated prices, and pre-purchasing the new expansion 'Shadowkeep' on Steam will net you all the other expansions released previously. On top of this, cross save is being added, meaning a character started on consoles will be accessible on PC, and vice versa. As a result, there will be no more content or gear exclusive to any one platform.

Destiny 2 New Light and Shadowkeep will release September 17.

Sounds like it's worth at least checking out the free content in your case, and deciding if you want to spend money on the expansions from there. Personally I haven't been that impressed by what I've played of Destiny 2, and I couldn't tell you how it compares to the first game, but there is the possibility updates may have improved it by now.

Lovely. Sorry guys but as a Warframe nerd who heard to much from the Destiny com im greatly satisfied now, since Maybe now People understand why you shouldnt support the devil.
About Destiny 1, i said that its a shame from the developer to give them a lootshooter to compete with warframe and then killing it 2 or 3 years in the future with destiny2?And now they even get a f2p Version? haha I cant even guess how the Players that bought it fullprice (twice if they played both) now get kicked so hard in the guts.

In sincerely hope, that someday Gamers get balls and tell those developers: "fuck u, i aint buy that shit!"

BTW: Plz start with lootboxes if u grow balls.

For those complaining about not getting anything for paying for stuff early, it may suck if you bought the year one content like the day before this was announced (for dirt cheap) but if you did much longer than that, you come off as a bit selfish and entitled. The developers are the ones that spent countless hours developing a game while you only spent like $60. Just appreciate that more people can experience a game for free and maybe get sucked into buying the expansions.
