Dementia Design

Dementia is a non-specific illness syndrome (set of symptoms) in which affected areas of cognition may be memory, attention, language, and problem solving. Higher mental functions are affected first in the process. Especially in the later stages of the condition, affected persons may be disoriented in time (not knowing what day of the week, day of the month, month, or even what year it is), in place (not knowing where they are), and in person (not knowing who they are).

One portion of a Final for a Psych class. Basically needed to interpret a psychological disorder of our choosing into our own design style, in any medium.

What sort of crazy Psych courses are you taking? My Psych projects involve critical response essays, multiple choice tests and short answer questions....

I quite like the interpretation though. It does elicit a feeling similar to that of dementia (not that I have the disorder).

Well, I'm attending a Design College, so nearly every class (even the Gen. Ed. ones like Psych) tend to incorporate design and require us to explore our design potential at one small point or another.

My dad teaches Psychology and I've looked at his plans and they're more like read, review, test...like a normal class. (EDIT: I see why now nvm) The most "creative" thing he lets them do is for their masterpiece some students make a video.

Man, If I had any sort of artist ability in visual forms I would have done schizophrenia and made it look like a Salvador Dali. But thats a pretty decent dementia.
