Is is safe and ok to just copy the bootmii file from the root of the sd and save it into the desktop
and delete it from the sd card

its annoying to have to press resest again and again....

Just put your SD card in your computer.. go to the BootMii folder and open bootmii.ini and change the autoboot setting to system menu. Simple as that. No need to remove the folder from your SD card or rename it or hide it somewhere else..

Look for this part and either make sure it isn't commented out, or change it to the appropriate action.

# Autoboot, possible settings:
# SYSMENU, HBC
AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU

Don't delete bootmii itself. Just use the bootmii configuration editor and set bootmii to autoboot whatever you want it to. It's in the boot2 section of the bootmii section in the guide in my sig.

Edit: Any of these methods mentioned will work. Removing the bootmii folder from your SD card and saving it to your pc will have it just boot directly to the system menu, but I'm not sure if that adds a bit of time to the startup time because it might look through the whole SD card for the bootmii folder. And manually editing the bootmii.ini file is basically what the bootmii configuration editor application will do automatically with an easier to follow GUI.

Change what? Just read through the boot2 section in the bootmii part of the guide in my sig. You should understand all of your options after doing so.

Ok I guess since you already opened that file you can just edit that instead of using the bootmii configuration editor.

Delete the # sign before the AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU line and the BOOTDELAY=5 line.

Then change the 5 to 0 if you want it to boot directly to the system menu.

If you WANT to have it autoboot to the HBC instead of the system menu, you can change the SYSMENU to HBC.

You could also just rename the folder on the root of the sd card to something else. Then when you actually need it you can just rename the folder to bootmii

Is it possible all bootmii folders and files will be the same for all wii's?

I think they are in deed the same for all Wiis
Maybe I'm mistaken, but I don't know no reason why the should be different....

Here are the MD5-hashes for my files

I use the following settings:

Code:
# Autoboot, possible settings:
# SYSMENU, HBC
AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU

# Autoboot delay, in seconds:
# Default is 5
BOOTDELAY=2

2 seconds is not too long, and if I need to, I can easyly access bootmii without renaming anything...
