Deja Vu is a newly released Vita homebrew that lets you make savestates

A new homebrew tool by the name of Deja Vu has just released. No, no, not that one, but rather an application for the PlayStation Vita. It may not be an exploit, but instead Deja Vu is a plug-in that acts as a savestate for your games. Just like you can in an emulator, you can now set a savestate and jump back to that point, which is useful in difficult games that don’t normally allow for saving at any time. At the time of initial public release, Deja Vu is still early in development, and is experimental. Creating a savestate takes about 60 seconds, while loading it takes a slightly shorter amount of time, with each savestate clocking in at around 400-500MB, meaning you’ll want to make sure you have the space to do so on your memory card. At version 0.1, it can also cause system crashes, so you’ll want to be careful.

If you do want to try this early build, you can go ahead and grab it from TheFlow’s GitHub.

déjàvu is a plugin for the PlayStation Vita that allows you to make a snapshot of the RAM at any point and later restore it. It allows you save in games where it is officially not possible. A potential use case for developers is to temporarily downgrade/update the firmware (in RAM) in order test things (this has not been tested yet).

Requirements
A Memory Card is required for this plugin.

Installation
  1. Download dejavu.skprx and copy it to ux0:tai/dejavu.skprx.

  2. Edit ux0:tai/config.txt and add its path to *KERNEL as follows:

  3. Reboot your device and enjoy this new feature.

TheFlow is the kind of guy to keep a dead console relevant just because he can. If only the Wii scene had people like him...
TBF, the wii had a lot going on with the HB scene. I think the versatility of handheld consoles are more indulging as they are made with versatility in mind.

Good ol' The Flow, says he's done with the Vita and a few months later out pops another excellent piece of homebrew.

What a guy
He constantly says he’s done with the vita. He does all this for attention. Someone leaks a piracy project “I quit the vita scene!”. Makes a new team with a new piracy tool “I am done with the scene now.”, updates his tools one more time “really, I’m done this time guys.”. I can guarantee you he’s going to “quit” again and be back a few months later with a new tool. Don’t get me wrong, he’s done some amazing work and I loved using his tools on the vita. But if you say you’re going to stop developing for the vita, then stop coming back just for attention.

Though The Flow is known to be melodramatic at times, I highly doubt that he does everything simply for the attention. There's personal pride in being able to do things others don't, and he has a lot more going for him than simply just being visible.

good news I would enjoy save states but would prefer if it used less storage space and loaded faster than that. Maybe a future release will help and also to iron out some bugs Ill hold out from getting this till its ready
