Deep philosophical question about breakfast

What is the difference between Cereal and Outmeal?
I mean Outmeal IS cereal, technically speaking, or... is it?

cereal in the modern sense, is considered to be hard and eaten uncooked with cold milk. oatmeal is meant to be cooked and eaten hot. Not sure of the technichal differences but i think that it may be cereal is pre-cooked and oatmeal is not? but WHAT about cream of wheat?

Oatmeal and "cereal" are made from cereals so I guess you can call either "cereal".

At least it's all food and you can eat it...
But I really prefere a good sandwich for breakfast... With vegetables, sausage and cheese! Yummi!
