Debates?

Well I'm kind of new to this forum and was wondering if people debate a lot about issues in this section. Or is it more or less for funny spam and stuff not so serious?

Well, debates usually turn into flame wars...so we're usually quick to close video game console-related debates.

Other than, we like it if you don't debate religion as that can offend some people...

You should be able to debate stuff, just keep it appropriate please.

Alright. Just hypothetically putting it out there, if someone started a thread on abortion would it get good posts or would people treat it kind of carelessly. I know it's a lame topic but I'm just wondering.
