Kojima Productions just announced that a new patch for the PC version of Death Stranding has been released. This patch adds Cyberpunk 2077 crossover content to the game which includes the following cosmetic features:

• Cyberpunk 2077 themed Reverse Trike vehicle with improved jumping power
• “Silver Hand” modelled after Johnny Silverhand’s robotic arm that can be equipped and used in game
• New holograms including a SAMURAI symbol signboard and a Atlas Trauma Team vehicle hologram for certain constructions
• Several fashion items including Johnny Silverhand’s sunglasses

And it's not just cosmetic items that have been added but a brand-new "hacking" mechanic and six new missions featuring characters and lore from Cyberpunk 2077. The new hacking function allows Sam Bridges to target enemy machines in combat. Kojima Productions explained that this feature will also allow porters to stop Mule sensor poles from activating for a limited time, stun enemy Odradeks and hack Mule trucks to stop them in their tracks.

A new trailer was also released for the occasion:

As mentioned, this major update is now live but only for the PC version of the game and the developer announced a 50% discount on the game on Steam and Epic Games Store for a limited time. Be sure to check out our impression of the PC version in the link below!

Kojima Productions also celebrated its 5th anniversary yesterday, with the launch of new arts and merch. The company also teased that there is more to come in 2021.

Somewhat related, there's also another sort of "crossover" between Kojima Productions and CD Projekt Red in Cyberpunk 2077 in the form of a cameo from Hideo Kojima himself:

Did you manage to find out about this cameo?

I'm either calling it Death 2077 or Cyberpunk Stranding

Wow... getting such Final Fantasy XV vibes here it is scary. Much more concern with getting literally: A) An online mode that will "keep the game evergreen"; B) crossover marketing instead of fresh original content; C) DLC that actually improves on the core game.

Let it not be the same as FFXV... though it certainly looks the part.

Seriously when Kojima twitted about something BIG incoming, i expected he's going to announce a brand new game!
Kinda disappointing at last.
