All bacon is is ham/pork that was soaked in a brine to cure and sometimes smoked as well. Its even possible to make home made bacon if you we're so inclined to, but theres many other pork products that isn't exactly bacon, but undergone the same process but with different parts of the pig.

Some people make Bacon out of beef ya know--though maybe its not really bacon because of that...*hmm*....I never really thought about it until just now, but I suppose that its not Bacon if its not really a pig because Backo is supposed to mean the back of a pig. >_
