im chARGING MY PSP JUST NOW TO UPGRADE:d
just to let everyone know it works perfect. theres always a new auto pop .
You do need to do a full update for this If you have the DATA.DXAR handy from the 3.03 update you do not need to recreate it. I like the new feature that lets you delete the files from the memory stick. It was very handy for getting rid of the firmware update files without having to put the stick back in my memory card reader.
I did it just for the ~3 second boot speed increase.
I'll do it when I'm bored, some nice extras but nothing too significant other than possibiility of writing to flash via USB.
i wonder if it fixes the ps1 games that crash before need to try.
the general consensus is no it doesn't.
I have 3.02 OE-B.
Would I be able to update to 3.03 OE-C without going through 3.02 OC-C and 3.03 OE-B, etc.?
No, you need 3.03oeb at least I think.
No, it's a full install. You can go from 1.5 even if you want to. The change is too significant in the bootstrap to be a simple update like OE-A' and OE-B for 3.03.
i updated from oea so its fine
I updated works nice.
I'm running it too. Very nice Thank you to Dark Alex for unlocking the PSP's potential instead of Sony!
im running 1.5, is it worth me changing to the new FW? heard good & bad things and a possibility of bricking going on, not played with my psp for AGES but looking to use it with holidays coming up
i have very little knowledge on the PSP firmware but say if you got the latest official sony firmware, could you then change that firware to this hack one?
do it. you can run psp isos and csos from the main menu. plus ps1 games. anyway you can go back to 1.5 very easyly. no you cant do it from sonys latest firmware. if anybody wants any information or help pm me.
No. You only can upgrade to tihs by going back to firmware 1.50 where hacks would run without problems. But A couple days ago, the official sony firmwares have been defeated to downgrade to 1.50 and then get this.
Well, you don't need to bother with any firmware emulation so no devhook needed. You can play PS1 backups. And then all the functionality of 3.03, minus Korean font and Location Free. Your choice.
The "bricking" possibility is always there when writing to flash. But that's if your stupid enough to shutdown the system while flashing, remove the battery or bypass battery warning/ac adapter warning. Outside of that, the chances are minuscule and would be considered a freak accident at that point.
