Crap. Now I have to find a a copy of the game. :)

Here's the updated LBXARMEXPLAIN. It seems that only LBXARMEXPLAIN that has extra records. All the others have 100 records with only the last part of each line being changed to fit if it was the head, body, leg etc. As such, the lines of LBXARMEXPLAIN has been rewritten so that only by changing the first part of each line to whatever part, you can get description for the other parts (Head, leg, body etc.).

For example, Record 1 is
タイニーオービットの最新LBXの[A]。
Where [A] is whatever part it is, leg, body, arm etc. So the translation would be"Tiny Orbit's latest LBX [A]."

I've rewritten it as "Arm Part: Tiny Orbit's latest part." That way, you can change Arm Part to Head Part, Leg Part etc. and the description still holds.

Thanks! I looked through your arm part descriptions, they really helped :)

A few minor typos caught my eye:

Yes. You caught the It's, its typo. I missed that. Thanks. Also the great job of catching the missing who. I can get pretty careless like that. My mind jumps faster than my hands are typing. LOL

Sorry it's been so long since I posted, been doing other stuff and haven't got much done in terms of the translation. I'm loving the work you guys have done though, it's awesome. I think I might start tweaking some of the descriptions and others so that they fit nicely for things like the LBX-Pedia and we don't end up with cut off text.

Sorry for the lack of updates on my part! Been on vacation and distracted by other things;;

Finished translating ADDR_PERSONDETAIL_JP.BTX from GScene_CCM.pac! Please feel free to change any of my wording because I feel a lot of them sound awkward or are translated too literally... I'm poor when it comes to wording.

Just a few things I wanted to note:
I based all of my translations off of the anime subtitles, so I just want to make sure they don't clash with any previous translation of the same thing:
  • Record 3: Jin's nickname is "秒殺の皇帝" which I translated as "Split-Second Killing Emperor" based off anime subs
  • Record 16-18: I translated Gouda's gang (ゴウダ三人衆) as "Gouda's gang of three"
  • Record 27-29: ハッカー軍団 -> Hacker Corps
  • Record 28: Doesn't really have to do with anime subs, but the description says that this guy has a habit of always saying de-su (デース) at the end of his sentences. When we translate the script, he's definitely going to be saying デース a lot. I don't know how we're translating this (keep de-su or replace with some sort of English phrase) so I'm leaving it as de-su in the description for now.
  • Record 45: I don't know if you've translated this yet, but there's a game shop named "ゲームズマーヤ" in front of the Misora Station. I'm not sure how to translate this so I just called it Games Mart for now... I think the store owner's name is マーヤ so it's kinda named after him I guess?
Also not sure if I translated 41 correctly... I got confused.
Also, could I have the translated list of LBX and character names? I tried looking through the thread for the file but I couldn't find it... I could've sworn I found it before. Maybe I missed it? Anyway, it would be useful if I could use those as a reference so I can make sure my translations stay consistent with previous ones. Thanks!

I will attempt to machine/wiki translate them for you. I should have plenty of time this coming weekend to do it.

I took a look through the first page or two and the last page or two, so excuse me if I missed any of these.
Is there a font file for any picture editing? I am a (very) amateur photoshopper and wouldn't mind taking a crack at some pictures as classes allow. Worst that happens is that they aren't worth using and I learn something by trying right?
Is there a milestone that you are holding before making a patch? Is it going to be an all or nothing thing?
Is there any access to making our own patch to try what is currently done in the (loosely termed) 'dev' files? This would be most useful for playing with descriptions and such to make sure they look right before giving them back to you. We could do this with just the files we ourselves modify but then you have some inconsistency with different styles. Dunno maybe it would be best to just leave it for one person for conformity, but it seems like you have a lot on your plate anyways.

Fair warning, my only translation experience was editing SD Gundam G Generation Overworld with MadEdit for parts/abilities and limited menu translation for my personal ease of use.

I can do a lot more text in the same amount of time. The main problems with my doing images is that I don't have context for the pictures and I have to guess which of the similar looking characters the picture uses, with text I can copy/paste nice and lazily.
If you don't mind having to check stuff like I did in my last post I don't mind doing the pictures though. I am looking at GScene_MainMenu.pac as the next one to do, but if you have a more important one to target let me know and I will start with that one. I would still like some text to translate to bounce between while doing the pictures.

The second Item on this list comes out as either
バーテイ which translates to Batei
which google tries to auto correct to
バーティ which translates to Bharti

I can only assume some special context or human error on my side.

The problem with this is the dangling bit of the Q which will dip below the text line, or make the entire entry look unnatural and floaty if it is moved up. Let me know how you want that handled. I am going to just line the rest of the text up for now and you can tell me if it looks terrible in game.

I am leaving the CCM alone unless you tell me there is something better to put there.

Which has another vague translation of Technique-Sense

Adding spaces doesn't help the translation either, unless it is せ んせき which means "Cough does not".......
I assume I am misreading the last symbol but I don't see one right now that looks more likely.

The last one looks to be "Settings" which will have the same problem with the g as the Q in Edit 3. I am just going to do the same thing here unless told otherwise.

I am holding off on modifying the other 4 shadings of this menu set until I have approval and a translation for the second to last item. I also was lazy with the CCM and just left it in the original font. I will most likely change this when it gets to be time to finish the menu with the last translation.

Let me know if the placement on the second menu item cuts off the top a little or looks off compared to the others. I can't really tell if it needs to come down one pixel or not, but it's current placement is my best guess. I am talking about the menu in the picture directly above this sentence. I haven't posted the translated version of this as of posting, but didn't want to forget that this might be an issue. Sorry If my using this space as a notepad is bothersome, I just like the transparency it gives. Let me know if I should stop.

Hmm this one seems to be center justified. I will attempt to match that. Let me know if any of the placements are off since I am doing it by hand.

Let me know if the second item isn't lined up top/bottom correctly and if anything isn't visually correct for center justified. I had to guess where it was supposed to be for the most part based on what was there already.

But it has a few superscript crazyness (No clue how to translate those. I don't speak any japanese and the only translation I have done is Google Translated for text. I don't know how to even go about entering those characters for it to translate them) and I don't know what those things on the right side are and if they are important or need to be spaced from the text a certain way for some reason or another. I will come back to this one if someone can give me a context for it and translations for the super scripted parts.

IMPORTANT!
I just tried to save a new bmp and it was defaulting to 8 bit color. The rest of the images I have done defaulted to 16, but I can't be sure that that wasn't because of how I was editing them. If the images don't work let me know and I can resave them as 8bit and see if that works.

It doesn't have the soft looking lines of the original because the was mostly a varied color outline. I don't do those very well so I just stuck to the darkest color they used and outlined all the letters with it. Anyone artistically inclined is more than welcome to come through and clean up anything I do. Please.

Before you expend all your energy on this stuff, read through the 1st post and the thread. It'll get ya up to date on what we've got done and what needs to be done.
Sorry though I didn't get to test out the files today. Hopefully tomorrow.

EDIT: WOW! You're blazing through files! Sadly most of those we already have done.
I'll do a comparison check though to see how yours stack up against what we have, if they're better I'll toss them in.

Hrm... so those two do say that. I'll have to correct the one for the GScene_MainMenu.PAC to Partial or Done.
The LBXCard.PAC however is untouched, with the exception of what you've done of course.

The LBXCard.pac I think is just waiting on verification of the last entry as "Instance" before I do the highlighted color for it and a translation of the two pictures I posted that didn't make any sense to me. If you have any particular images you want edited let me know and I will target them first. I should have an hour or two to do some tonight at about 8 or 9 pm PST.

I am getting the same issue with the
\GScene_CCM.pac.wrk\U_CM_MTITLE.CSB.wr2\__SEQ_00__.a.bmp
text image too. It doesn't seem to be adding lines just making some lines black. I don't know if this is for an effect or if this is legitimately wrong.

These two images and the reshades of them are the only text images I am finding in
GScene_CCM.pac

Since it has been a week since I first asked for text to edit, and most of my pictures were unintentional duplicates and nothing seems to be assigned to me, I think I am just going to quietly fade away now. Classes are getting going and I won't have much time to work on things like this once they get going. I will probably keep lurking around, Good luck. I hope this project doesn't end up abandoned.

Sorry this is kind of late, but do you still need help with this? That actually says リーダー, which is "leader." I know katakana can be confusing when it's written in a font like that.

And also, せんせき should be something like records, results, achievements, that kinda thing... I'm not really sure because it's out of context... Hope that helps!

I'm busy with classes as well so progress on my part will be slow too...

Sorry bout the lack of updates guys, been busy with life and other things.
Mainly I've been getting distracted from Danball because I've lost a lot of interest in it. That doesn't mean I won't work on it a bit still or I won't release what I have, but I won't be doing anymore major works or changes to it.
Now before anyone goes blaming anything or someone it's my fault entirely. Well that and Danball getting licensed here in the US and the Anime being dubbed which means a VERY high chance of the games being released on 3DS.

Just keep an eye out for the 1 year Anniversary of this thread. Things will be happening then.
