Hacking D3-2 wii's

Has there been any progress with these wii's. I'm thinking of buying a new wii. Will there be a way for the drive to read backups?

if you want to play backup disk's I would suggest getting an older second hand Wii cause I think the only way to play games on the newer Wii's is through USB loaders I could be wrong

I guess i could always buy a new wii and get a replacement drive.Has this been tested and works?I set up usbloader gx for my bro and its pretty good but i like having a disk backup in case the hdd goes.

Yeah, I just keep my original backups on another HDD (in cISO format to save even more space). Easier and more reliable than burning discs.
