Hi guys,

I bought a new Wii on 11/18/2009, after my old Wii (with D2Pro-Modchip) got Full-Semi Bricked (can't get it running again after failed installing cIOS and failed updating to 4.0 ... nevermind). My problem is now, I can't get many Backups working from an WBFS, that worked like a charm on my old Wii.

Games, that don't work:
- Sims 2 - Castaway
- Harvest Moon Magical Melody
- Harvest Moon Tree of Tranquility
- Fast Food Panic

Games that worked:
- New Super Mario Bros. Wii
- Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil Zero
- Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil
and many more...

Don't know why, but Sims 2 - Castaway is not a pretty new game and don't work, but New Super Mario Bros. Wii for example worked like a charm...?

That is, what I've done:
New Wii: No Modchip & looks like with D3-2 Drive
FW: 4.2E
cIOS (and something similar):
1. Homebrew Channel, BootMII (as IOS) and DVDX installed with Bannerbomb (HackMII)
2. Trucha Bug Restorer MOD applied:
2.1 Downgrade to IOS15 (IOS15 rev 523 & IOS15 rev 257) with IOS36
2.2 Install cIOS36 rev 3351 with: patched Hash Check, patched ES_identify and patched Nand Permissions
2.3 IOS15 restored (IOS15 rev 523) with IOS36
3. Any Title Deleter MOD v6 applied:
3.1 removed IOS 222/223/249/250
4. cIOS38_rev14 applied with IOS36 (rev17 also applied!)
5. Hermes cIOS Installer v4 applied with IOS249:
5.1 cIOS222 applied on IOS38
5.2 cIOS223 applied on IOS38 merged with IOS37
5.3 cIOS202 applied on IOS38 merged with IOS60
6. IOS70 v6687 with patched Sig Hash Check applied with Dop IOS
7. IOS56 applied with WAD Manager 1.4

Apps on SD:
Neogamma v8 RC1
Configurable USB Loader

Don't know, what is missing or what I've done wrong.

I know, that I can't get copied DVD of my original Games work with this drive, I want play them only with my WBFS-HDD, but shouldn't it be possible to get these old and new games working? I read that it should work probably, hope someone can help me.

Thanks for any help or comment

@nitrostemp: already applied, forgot it in the main thread. Nothing changed so far.
@KiiWii: These games listed are working correctly on my old wii, so no bad dump.

Tried my own dump and Fast_Food_Panic_PAL_Wii-WiiERD dump. Shows only a Grey screen with Neogamma and USBLoader.

Thanks for your answers

You are using the same single WBFS HDD to test on each Wii?
Yes, nothing changed, only added some new backups to try them.

btw: also tried a small 4GB Stick with Harvest Moon Tree of Tranquility & Fast Food Panic stored on it - nothing changed.

Hmmm... if it were me I would:

Delete and redump (via WiiFlow or something similar) the sims 2 castaway from the original disk, directly on to the HDD, through the D3-2 Wii.

If that doesnt work, then I honestly have no idea, or I'm overlooking something really obvious.

Hello,

Tried Wiiflow to dump any original game, but it returns only:
"Disc_Open failed", looks like it can't dump originals from that drive any more, too

.

Would it change anything, if I will change the drive from D3-2 to D2C from my old Wii with D2Pro-Modchip? I mean, is it possible, that many more games will work (like these listed here)? Or is the modchip only for burned dvds and not for HDD-Backups?

Thanks

EDIT: Got it workin'! WBFS 3.01 on Windows was the problem (looks like that eather) ... with WBFS for Mac I've copied Harvest Moon on my USB Drive and a worked correctly... don't know whats going wrong?

What ever - it works

Yeh, WBFS manager causes bad dumps occasionally, I posted about this somewhere else before, something to do with cyclic redundancy checks.

WiiFlow wont dump with cIOS38 R17, Try R14

WBFS manager makes bad dumps? So if I dumped an original disc to my HDD using Wiiflow and copied the iso over to my pc using WBFS manager, it could be a bad dump? I'm asking because I have many games I backed up to lend the original to a friend, so if this is the case I'd have to take back all of them, redump them using other program, and then return them...
