CycloDS firmware v1.2 BETA 3 released

    Out now!

As Team Cyclops near the final release of loader version 1.2 they have decided to release yet another beta version to fix recently discovered issues such as ROM #1368. A few new features and other bug fixes have also been added to this beta. The team plan to release final v1.2 sometime next week.[title:CycloDS v1.2 BETA 3]CycloDS Evolution v1.2 BETA #3 (the third BETA) has been released and is available for download here. We had not originally planned on releasing any further BETA firmware builds before v1.2 final is ready, however due to some recent (and highly anticipated) game releases which are not compatible with earlier firmware versions we felt it would be better to do an interim release fixing compatibility issues with these games rather than making our customers wait. We've thrown in a few new features and other fixes as well

    Changes for this release include:

    * Game compatibility fixes (Worms Open Warfare 2 etc)

    * Updated DLDI driver, will now allow 3rd party loaders such as DSOrganise and DSChannels to load .NDS files

    * Time shown in ingame menu

    * Folders starting with '.' are now hidden

    * Date and time are now set properly for .sav files

    * Fixed problem where skin name would always be shown as "Default" on reboot

    * Fixed cheat core bug

We plan to release v1.2 final sometime next week. If any bugs are found in this BETA then please let us know so fixes can be incorporated into the final release.[IMG] Download

Well... the hidden directory thing is just mimicking unix-style hidden files, so there's nothing malicious about it.

They beat R4/M3 to the fix. [IMG] That says a lot IMO

If you can bother patching ROM #1368 it will work on the R4/M3 because I am playing it under firmware 1.11

R4 team needs to release a firmware where you can customize your icons on the main screen, like add homebrew icons and shortcuts [IMG]

Heh, we've been requesting the same thing from Team Cyclops on their forum. Who will do it first?! The race is on!

The new DLDI driver is really great, though. Now that we can launch stuff from within DSOrganize, we can at least set up shortcuts on the DSOrganize home screen until Team Cyclops implements customizing the Evo home screen.

The new DLDI is the result of user requests on their forums, as well, by the way, and so is the Unix style hidden folders feature. So Team Cyclops *DEFINITELY* listens to their users, which is the best thing about them, in my opinion. It's the reason why I bought mdy Evo in the first place and so far they've been really good about it. They kind of keep quiet about what features they're working on, so you're left wondering, "have they even noticed this feature request?" but then all of a sudden they'll post saying that the feature is working in their current test build and then two days later they'll release an updated firmware.

    ...word is bondage...

I love the hidden directory feature!
I think the CycloDS'd be perfect if you could view games in icon-only mode, so that you aren't stuck with obscure file-names or 3 games per page in icon-view.

    Heh [IMG]

Oh yay, now I can launch stuff from within DSO. Sometimes I'm editing some .txt or .cfg file in DSO and want to see what the edits do, but I can't just launch the homebrew from there and I have to turn off the DS and turn it back on (not a problem really when I'm on my flashed DS, but any other DS and it is)

Now I don't even have to bother with that [IMG] hooray for Cyclo.
