I have a Gold Nintendo DS Lite and a CycloDS Evolution (third batch). I'm looking for advice on which Slot 2 card would be best to compliment my set-up. I know very little about slot 2 cards so far so I look to you for advice and guidance.

These are my needs in order of importance.

1. native GBA support requiring little or no patching of ROMs (if that is even possible as far as the no patching goes)
2. Enough RAM to run any size game without problems (also sufficient for apps like net browsers)
3. Rumble support (and/or motion support?)

Also if you know a reputable retailer with fair pricing for the card you suggest that would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

The EZ Flash 3 in 1 expansion pack is your best bet. Firstly, all (GBA game compatible) flashcarts require the GBA roms to be patched. There is no working around this as far as I know and the 3 in 1 is no exception either.

The 3 in 1's GBA compatibility is near perfect and contains RAM which can also be used for the Opera Web Browser and homebrew like DSLinux.

Also, that little sucker is capable of being a rumble pack as well. No motion support though.

Thanks guys.. I will look for a EZ Flash 3 in 1. The color is trivial to me so that wouldn't stop me from getting one. Besides if it bugs me that much I may just spray the part that shows when it's inserted gold. I'd think if I painted the whole case it might make it hard to insert so I'd mask that off and paint just the outer edge that is exposed. A gold as close to my DS as I can find, and then a layer of clear.

I do have one more question which is unrelated but raejae's sig sparked my interest.

what benefits does flashing your DS bios have? If that is even what that means.

You're flashing the firmware, not the BIOS, but you were close. FlashMe mostly benefits those who use full-fledged slot-2 devices, not really slot-2 expansion packs like the 3in1. Benefits include removal of the health and safety warning screen, ability to boot slot-2 devices without a NoPass device, and the ability to use Download Play to load some homebrew files to your DS wirelessly.

Unless you are sick of the warning screen, you probably wouldn't gain much from installing FlashMe.

ah ok.. sounds cool but it isn't an option yet since I have no slot 2 card at all so far. Seems like it would void my brand new warranty anyway. The health warning screen isn't that annoying I suppose. Thanks for taking the time to answer that Dan.
