edit: and ive been reading about something called an EZ 3 in 1 expansion pack does this need any tyoe of pass me or anything like that and can it run gba roms?

No it's not any good.
Yes you need a passcard (or flash your ds) to play ds stuff from it.
Just find a SuperCard slot 2 review, it's a clone of that and because of the lack of updates you'll probably use the sc firmware anyway. Although it's rumoured that the next firmware of sc will be incompatible with slot2 cyclo's...

To the edit:
The EZ-Flash 3 in 1 is for GBA games only, it does not require a passcard, but it does require a slot1 card to put the GBA rom on it. But it can't play DS games in any way, cause that's what you have the slot1 card for then...

the ez flash 3in1 works with any slot 1 card provided they have soft reset available (which i believe excludes ds-x)

its very good if you want the ability to play gba but dont want to uy/dont have the money to get a slot 2 card out right,

prices vary but its usually $20 shipped
and yes, there are gba sized version available. check realhotstuff, gameyeeeah, winsunx and bamboogaming for the gba sized.
dealextreme is a good place to get it lite sized
