Hacking Currently on 4.1.0, How do I get a 5.1.0 firmware file to update without burning fuses?

The guide mentioned a JP game including the 5.1.0 firmware, as well as two folders that may have it. Where are these? I haven't gone through the guide manually yet but I want to make sure I'm set before starting.

Additionally, the main benefit of 4.1.0 is a softmod, but I'll be able to do all the things I can do via a softmod with a hard mod, right? And we don't currently know if the switch can detect how many fuses are out to ban people, so isn't it still risky? Is there a huge benefit to backing up my console and not burning fuses?

EDIT: If the most important thing for me is playing online when super smash bros comes out and with friends locally, should I do anything to mod it right now or can I just upgrade and figure it out later?

EDIT AGAIN: Ignore the original question in the title, the rest kind of still apply?

If you want to play online and not risk getting banned, don’t mod the system at this time.

There is not a HUGE advantage to preserving a downgrade option to 4.1 unless the possibility of a unteathered warmboot is important to you. As a mobile device the possibility is important to me. Yes, you can do all the same things. ChoiDujourNX is a very easy method to upgrade without burning fuses. I was able to find a copy of 5.1 at the same places one would typically find nsp and xci files and found it much faster than messing with xbins.

Got it, Youtube seems to be good for these. Another question, since it may have been implied in the update without burning fuses guide, I need a rcm jig for the guide, right? If so I'll prob just buy one and come back to it later

Having a jig is preferable but not really necessary becuase once you upgrade autoRCM is enabled so you never really need the jig again. So tinfoil, a paperclip, a wire etc will all work for occasional use. Jigs are like $3 on eBay so yeah go ahead and get one.

Going online with a modded Switch is ALWAYS risky, no matter what. The only way not to get banned is to not go online, period. So if you plan to play online regularly, don't mod. Now about the jig, TECHNICALLY you don't need it, a piece of foil is more than enough, does the job nicely. However, before activating AutoRCM, do some research on the topics around here, just so you fully understand the risks associated with autoRCM. Alternatively you can simply never turn your console off completely, just leave it on sleep mode and you should be fine. again, if you want to play online, DO NOT MOD

Yeah, I wasn't planning to mod until after the scene is more settled. When you say do not mod, that doesn't include updating without burning fuses right? My plan was update with the ability to downgrade -> play online and eventually figure out if it's worth messing with the switch later.

Supposedly all the burnt fuses to is prevent downgrades but so far it's unknown if they serve a different purpose or not
