I am looking for some advise/guidance please.
I currently have a wii (pal) on 3.4 firmware that was softmodded via Bannerbomb.
I used this process to do the Bannerbomb hack...
1. Put sd card into your wii and turn it on
2. Go to Data Management then choose Channels followed by SD
3. Choose "Yes" to load boot.dol
LoadMii will then load.
Press "A" on the WiiMote.
4. Go down to DowngraderIOS35.dol and run it by pressing "A" on the WiiMote.
5.Choose downgrade IOS35 and then let it go, then choose exit
(ignore the patchmii and dvdx)
6. You'll be back in LoadMii now.
7. Go down and run Wad Manager 1.4 by pressing "A" on WiiMote.
Just select normal settings (don't change IOS)
8. Install IOS35.wad.
Exit Wad Manager 1.4 by pressing "HOME"
You'll be back in LoadMii.
9. Run Wad Manager again, Select IOS35 when it asked what IOS to use.
10. Install the CIOSv7.wad.
Press "Home" to exit.
11. Then Run Wad Manager again.
Tell it to use IOS249.
12. Install IOS36.wad, BUL3g.wad(I changed this to NeoGammaR6.wad) & HBC.wad
This works great i have installed additonal channel WADs for NES/SNES ect all spearte emulation wads. these all work fine.
Also installed Wiiware all working fine so long as a PAL.wad or region free.
I also ran the BootMii installer to install DVDx this also works fine.
All games tested so far including all recent relesase work does not matter if PAL or NTSC. All DVD-r's so are scrubbed backups.
Now i did NOT install the bootMii either as boot2 or ISO.
Not sure if i need BootMii ??
At the time i did this i had only just heard about softmodding Wii's, watched a couple of Youtube vids on it and thought i give it a try went and bought the Wii. Did it right way. All work great.
Now after much reading about hacking/homebrew i am a bit confused...
When i did my Wii I also did my firends at the same time ecept his was a Virgin Firmware 4.0E PAL did everything the same and all works same as mine.
I cant seem to find any exect guides in covering on how i could upgrade to 4.0E having used the above method
1. Can i upgrade using nintendo upgrade threw internet.
2 If not how do i do it...
