Hacking Curious about .TLK files

I've disassembled Sonic Chronicles for the DS, and there are some .TLK files that I would like to edit, but no matter what program I use to open the .TLK, it will never open, always reading 'Invalid Format'. Does anyone on GBATemp know how I can bypass this? Any help will be appreciated!

You'd be able to open it in a Hex Editor, but I doubt that'd do ANY good, it'll just be a load of random crap most likely, but you could try it, in case there is something interesting to be found that way.
